I thought it couldn’t get any worse when Macy’s bought out my beloved Marshall Fields. I vowed to always refer to it as Marshall Fields in protest of efforts to make Chicago the bastard child of New York.

But now you want me to call the Sear’s Tower, one of the single most recognized buildings in the city by another name? I think not. That’s like if I went to my friends and family and was like, “You know, I’ve had this name for my entire life. It’s what you’ve known me as my entire existance. But now I’d like to go by Lulu if it’s all the same to you.”

What’s next? It’s the beginning of the end I tell you.

Next thing you know they’ll be putting KETCHUP on hotdogs…(shudder).
